Holiday Cottage

The Older Cider House is the perfect escape for a cosy stay with family & friends in Hay-on-Wye.

Living Space
The living space offers a relaxed and welcoming layout with a dining area and a sunken lounge featuring comfortable sofas and reclining chairs. You will find a large television, a music system, games and books for quiet moments together. Evenings can be spent beside the log burning stove, its glow creating a cosy focal point. There is also a convenient downstairs cloakroom.

Bedrooms
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, each with its own ensuite shower room, making the cottage well suited to families or small groups of friends. The rooms include one king size, one double and one twin. Every bathroom is stocked with complementary Welsh Lavender hair and body wash. Towels are provided for each guest, with additional towels for river swims available from Simon and Kazuko.

Sun Lounge
Opening out to the rear, a generous sun lounge provides a peaceful spot to read or simply take in the gentle views of the hills beyond the River Wye. On a clear evening, you may even catch a glowing sunset.

Gardens
The gardens have a charming literary character with more than forty plants named after authors, stories or poetry.

Seasonal Styling
If you are visiting during winter, the cottage is dressed for Christmas creating a lovely setting for a festive gathering. Hay-on-Wye is full of seasonal charm with its lively Christmas market held on the second Saturday of December and the Hay Music Trust’s Grand Christmas Concert offering a memorable evening in the lead up to the holidays.
