Belmont House

Bed & Breakfast

Belmont House offers a welcoming Bed and Breakfast experience in the heart of Hay-on-Wye.

Each bedroom has been named after a favourite author, with Rooms 1 and 2 reflecting Kazuko’s chosen writers and Rooms 3 and 4 inspired by Simon’s.

Throughout the bedrooms you will find an emphasis on mirrors and chandeliers that highlight the character and elegance of this Georgian home.

We have onsite parking for all guests.

  • Every room is equipped with tea and coffee facilities and a generous selection of speciality teas. A hairdryer is provided, and the bedside sockets include USB points for added ease. As befits a book town, there are no televisions. Instead, each room features a small library of books to enjoy during your stay.

The ensuite bathrooms are supplied with complementary toiletries from Welsh Lavender, a much loved local business with a shop here in Hay and a lavender farm set high in the nearby hills. Their gentle lavender fragrance adds a calming touch to each room.

Breakfast is served in the Japanese Room, where guests can choose from a wide selection of continental and cooked favourites. Freshly baked croissants, seasonal fruit salad, local sourdough bread and Herefordshire apple juice are always available, along with Belmont House’s own tea and coffee blends. For something a little different, a Japanese breakfast is also offered.
